i feel like slapping the commentator on the switzerland-togo match for his painfully obvious biasedness. bias.
" OH, AND TOGO IS OUT! "
" LOOK AT THE SEA OF RED SUPPORTERS WITH THE WHITE CROSS EMBLAZONED ON THEIR CHESTS!"
" THE SWISS ARE DEFINITELY MUCH FITTER THAN THE TOGO PLAYERS. "
after togo is given a free kick:
" OOOOH, NOT A POPULAR DECISION THERE. "
well im SORRY if you dont like the referee's decision, but angled shots show that he was perfectly right. go argue with the cameras if you desire, dood.
my heart (aww) goes out to the african teams, for 4 of them, or was it 5, their world cup debut! they're fit, healthy, fast, tolerant of heat, have grit. they just lack refined technique - which comes from experience. even e fact that they dont have renowned coaches is nothing, im sure their coaches are good enough if they managed to break into e world cup circle. they're playing really awesomely already i think =) and they're definitely e most gentlemanly on e field. like after a foul, they dont raise their hands in the way that other players do, meaning AIYOH REFEREE IM TOTALLY INNOCENT I WASNT EVEN NEAR HIM DONT BOOK ME! the african players, most of em i saw, they help e offended guy up, ask if he's okay, in a way thats like 2nd nature to them? tis really kool!
anyhowdies. the world cup really amuses me by all e people acting pro at analysing e matches, when you KNOW that they're getting their info from commentators, dads, uncles, brothers, apeks at kopitiams, cousins and whatnot. its like who are they trying to impress!
hahahaha, - contemplates whether im guilty of e aforementioned crime - jiayou germany! playing ecuador tomorrow. =)
okay enough footie rubbish. but i have nothing to say, apart from e fact that i really like christian bale & heath ledger. two absolutely wonderful actors. good looking too, yes. not e point though, lol. there's this movie by heath ledger i really want to see, tis called candy, about a young desperate couple who lead wrecked up lives kuz they're hopelessly addicted to each other, and heroin. candy's the girls name, and a nick for heroin. yeah it sounds really awesome.
finally watched fearless! i think it rawked. ending was a bit too artsy for me, but it was a wonderful way to end off a kungfu acting career (for jet li's case). & e japanese warrior was so gentlemanly! hahahaha not exactly. how-to-say, jun1 zi3. yep. very. a quote which i thought were very meaningful, but i cant translate them properly, so i apologise to e writers of e screenplay for fearless. but the quote really struck me & made me think, so yep.

a man has no choice about the beginning of his life, but he must have the courage to stay upright to walk until the very last step. ( ren2 wu2fa3 xuan3ze2 sheng1ming4 de4 kai1shi3, dan4 bi4xu1 you3 yong3qi4 zou3 dao4 zui4hou4 yi1 bu4 )& today was officially last day of smp labwork. i'll miss not being there half the time because im in brunei or malaysia or bsp camp. SORRY LIZA AND BRENDA!
i'll miss trotting down to nus at 8 or 9 in e morning and leaving at 6 or 7, sometimes leaving very early to rush to school for other things, or going late because i've rushed there from school. i'll miss jana being patient and explaning everything to us again and again. i'll miss using micropipettes and shooting away pipette tips to discard them. i'll miss e smell of latex gloves & donning on e labcoat that looks purple under e lights.i'll miss e excitement of checking out our agarose gel bits under e ultraviolet light. i'll miss e breaks we get inbetween pcr for us to 'be productive', where brenda and liza would do maths, and i theory. i'll miss e canteen w e reasonable food & banana balls. i'll miss e bookshop with even better food. i'll miss e nus internal buses where i always forget they're free and fumble around my bag or pocket to dig out my wallet.i'll miss e sound of e centrifuge when its not balanced & we all freak out.
i'll miss making all e mistakes that ruin e experiments.
i'll miss not understanding anything at all.
i'll miss measuring out agarose to be exactly 0.750 grams.
i'll miss e lift and how e 'close door' button doesnt work on e buttons for e handicapped.
i'll miss all e really funkeh vending machines w good food and drinks. (HAHA LIZA LIMEADE!)
i'll miss much fun i had with liza & brenda.
i'll miss e uber uber cold freezer.
i'll miss e cold room, and definitely e koolest machine ever - e ice machine.
i'll miss putting pipette tips into boxes, & eppendorf tubes.
i'll miss e smell of lb broth.
i'll miss all e people in lab 1 - siew leong, yvonne, michelle!, anir
i'll miss e excitement of heatshock, e scurrying from incubator to ice.
sniffles. yep, smp labwork was much fun. shall go back on teacher's day to terrorize jana and dokmok even more, & we have even more plans. when jana becomes a professor we're going to all try to get to nus & be his undergrad students or something! ahahaha. he'd probably get a major heart attack from shock & send in his resignation letter the very next day.
but we made a nice card for him! well, brenda did, anyways. i just signed on it. but it's really a very nice card and we must get him something for teacher's day. it feels bad just giving him a card. one to share with dokmok, too.
holidays are almost over, and i've accomplished .... absolutely nothing.
