so i realised over e weekend, while stressing out about what book to do for erp, that i haven't been reading good literature for - eons. i cant recall the last decent A-list perfect-for-doing-bookreview type of lit. stuff like apologetics, which doesnt count, and much michael crichton is all i've been doing, and e other times im off in e land of trashy rubbish & wuxiaxiaoshuos =D.
thusly i decided to embark upon e journey of reading a truly lit-teacher-approved-book, LES MISERABLES! and i finally understand what i've been missing - im only done with like 10 pages or so, the font is SMALL and the books are thick (comes in 2 volumes) but its really one of the best books i've read so far - each character, each story, and hugo is so ... philosophical and wise! haha. really rawks. AHH ITS SO GOOD.
but itll take me until e end of year of finish, judging by my current rate. i've even highlighted wonderful quotes inside e book and whee here's one i felt was prettay:
Humanity is identity. All men are the same clay. No difference, here below at least, in predestination. The same darkness before, the same flesh during, the same ashes after life. But ignorance, mixed with the human composition, blackens it. This incurable ignorance possesses the heart of man, and there becomes Evil.yay french lit is much harths. shall go find lady of the camellias and count of monte cristo and hunchback of notre dame. YAYERS. i've read them in either abridged versions or chinese translations, but they lose much of e meaning and all the really kool quotations from deep within. so yeah. =)
